Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War have both received a much-needed update in Season 4. There are additions such as four new multiplayer maps, five new weapon options, a new quest in Outbreak, new Points of Interests (PoI) in Verdansk, and much more.
Season 4 also introduces an exciting new Zombie map (which is free). Additionally, look for a new event in both games that has a time limit: “Ground Fall,” where you can win unique rewards.
Call of Duty: Warzone remains a favorite among online games enthusiasts. Check out our patch notes to see what they updated with the release of Season 4.
New Gaming Features
The new season introduces events which allow players an exciting opportunity to win great rewards but, of course, they’ll have to pay $$ for them.
Players take part in completing various tasks as well as collecting important items like Emblems, Calling Cards and the infamous Satellite Weapon Charm. These challenges will pay off big time, presenting players with a reward like an Epic secondary weapon blueprint.
The Selected Operators
Season 4 also offers three new operators: Jackal, Salah, and Weaver. Jackal is already available, and Salah and Weaver will be available as the season moves forward.
New Weapons
Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War have received five fresh exciting weapons in Season 4. Two of these weapons form as part of the Battle Pass. The three remaining weapons can’t be unlocked until Season 5. These include the MG 82 LMG (Battle Pass Tier 15), C58 full-auto assault rifle (Battle Pass Tier 31), Nail Gun, OTS 9 SMG, and a mace melee weapon.
The developers made the following notes on the weapons included in the update:
“The following changes are our first major step towards increasing the average Time-to-Kill within Warzone. It is important to note that these Weapon adjustments were not made in a vacuum. When evaluating an individual change, some may seem quite drastic, but they were made holistically and in a way that supported a lock-step increase in average TTK across multiple Weapon categories. Torso Multipliers were a considerable focus of these changes with how often they would act as flat damage increases given how consistently that location could be hit. With reductions to these multipliers, we are placing a bigger emphasis on precision — a move which we feel is ultimately healthy for the game.
We will be closely monitoring Weapon performance to ensure the game is in a healthy state following the biggest balance update in the history of Warzone.”
New Maps
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War now includes four brand-new multiplayer maps in Season 4. They are Collateral (12v12), Collateral Strike (6v6), Amsterdam (2v2 and 3v3), and Hijacked (6v6).
The game features various new modes which include Multi-Team: Sat-Link. Teams will have to maintain their online satellite for the longest time possible. “One in the Chamber” includes a feature where players will only receive a single bullet, but they earn a bullet with every kill they make.
New Quests
New quests and, as mentioned, a new Zombie experience are also available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, as well. Players can find out more information on Zombies via the Zombie event called “Mauer der Toten.” The story is set up a on a new map which will continue the Dark Aether story.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s Verdansk map also receives its own spotlight which will include cool new features such as satellite crash sites, the “Red Doors,” hijacked Gulag, and the Downtown tower.
August 2nd Bug Fixes
In addition to this, another much needed update was done which fixed a whole host of issues that players previously found quite frustrating. The following issues were fixed:
• Killstreak tablet rewards were piling on top of one another.
• Players were able to favorite the Random Operator option but could not unfavorite it.
• The Random Operator selection moved to the wrong place.
• Players would take some Loadout Perks from the pre-match lobby into the round.
• The Power Surge Reactive Bundle image didn’t reflect the Bundle items that were included.
• Players downed while holding the Sentry Turret would have no Weapon in hand when revived.
• The OTS 9 (BOCW) unlock criterion erratically tracked when using any BOCW SMG Blueprint.
• Two Factor Authentication which required a client restart if a Player enabled it while playing the game.
• Additional crashes with different elements across Verdansk, enabling gamers to exploit/peek/shoot through them.
• Issues that caused the Stopping Power Field Upgrade to minimize recoil whilst using the Milano 821 (BOCW).
Payload fixes included:
• Where just the rear truck was pushed backwards by the opposing team.
• Where out-of-bounds zones wouldn’t be the right size.
• Where players would hear the whole team instead of just their direct squad.
• Where spawn points would randomly disappear on uneven terrain.
• Where the camera would freeze in the terrain when a match is over.
• Where the camera would tilt when exiting a vehicle.
